Look who got in the therapy pool today! My little fishie.
He looks so big in these pictures. I shouldn’t be surprised, he is one-year-old and all. The even more surprising part is how much he kicked in the water. We are having lots of trouble getting him to extend his legs and bear weight. (This one-year-old still prefers the fetal position.)
But water, as it turns out, is an amazing tool in therapy. It provides lots of sensory input because the water is touching most of your body. And you don’t have to deal with gravity.
He did great. He made his happy nosies through the whole thing. It didn’t even feel like therapy. It felt like a swim lesson. I’m just going to pretend that it was. It was a fabulous swim lesson and now we have lots of techniques to practice in the pool this summer.
