On Monday Nathan went to the Doctor of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine for a routine follow-up appointment. He earned himself a new diagnosis, Clonus. It’s Greek for “violent confused motion.” It’s a signal that something isn’t working correctly in his brain or spine causing in his case, his left foot, to shake involuntarily in certain positions. If you or I got Clonus, it would be a sign that something was very wrong. With Nathan, we’ve known since a week old that he has brain malformations, so it’s not altogether shocking or even that severe at this point. However, it is affecting his left foot and he hasn’t been walking well in his walker for some time. Until yesterday, when he did this!
